Well I am feeling excited and nervous at the same time. I have had many requests to produce video tutorials on my mineral cosmetics and to share news and information on skin health, or other products or ingredients in video format.
Although this is definitely a viable option for my company, I have been reticent in taking the first step to doing this. I very much enjoy writing to my followers each week but I am not sure how comfortable I would be in front of the camera.
However, with that stated, I took the leap into the unknown and purchased my hand dandy Flip HD video camera the other day. This little gadget is so incredibly simple that the technically challenged will find it the answer to their prayers. I have been playing around with it for a few days and of course I am aghast at watching myself live. There is a learning curve of getting to feel natural in front of the camera and I am nowhere near that yet! In fact I feel a bit silly and awkward at the same time.....Never mind the fact it shows up every little detail, including a hair out of place. This is great for product definition but when trying to hide those few extra pounds or the brand new pimple I may wake up with, there is no fooling this little gem of a camera.
With mineral makeup on and teeth brushed, I practice, practice, practice. I manage to entertain myself as I watch my monologue unfold in playback mode. Trying to keep a straight face has become the challenge of the day. Thank goodness for the erase button!
There are still many things to learn, including how to edit, upload on to youtube and blip.tv and make the lighting perfect so it will be easy to watch. The camera seems to be the simplest factor in producing videos. It is the editing software and the instructions for utilizing on video promo sites that will take the most time. All those that have gone before me make it look so simple.
I very much look forward to fulfilling the requests by many and hope my videos will meet the desires of those watching. I will still write each and every week on my skincare guide, however, I will move in the direction of supplementation through video presentations. As with anything, experience will overcome the uncertainty, and I am always ready to meet a challenge. And I know I will have fun doing it.
Wish me luck and you will be able to access them through conventional channels, yet we will archive them at Sterling Minerals In The Spotlight which is also a recently added new addition to our site.
Thanks for the inquiries and giving me that final push to improve my relationship with our customers subject to their requests. I will notify my readers when we launch our first official video. As to the subject matter...this will pertain to meeting our goals for information requested by my customers, past, current and future.
Have a great weekend!
